This Is Pulp is a social game. We all communicate on a daily basis so why don't draw advantage of that by making the communication into a game? A discussion must have a topic, so we will start off by creating tropes that will occur in the adventure. We can either create new ones, by drawing inspiration from the pulp genre, or build on each others' ideas. This is called the P.R.E.P.

The game then moves on to Play, where we take on roles like the cynical detective, the absent-minded historian, or the mad scientist. A dialogue needs to have a direction to continue and so does this game. Based on the tropes, the participants will create a common goal for their characters.

One participant will not have a character but instead create obstacles for the characters to stand in the way of their goal as the game progress. These obstacles are built from the already created tropes, that the other participants will have to describe their way out of by using their characters. They will get hurt and destroy things in their constant struggle towards their goal.

The game will guide us in how to be creative, how to build on each others' ideas, and how we can collaborate to make the game fun for each other. Because, in this game, there is no winner or looser. Instead, it's about creating a fun and action-filled story together with your friends.
